How to Measure Your Arm

For the most accurate results, we recommend having a lymphedema therapist, professional fitter, or a friend take your measurements.

Preparation

  • Relax your arm and keep your elbow slightly bent.
  • Pull the tape measure to a point of gentle tension — not too tight, not too loose.
  • For the best precision, measure in centimeters (cm).

Measurement Points

  1. Index Finger: Relax your hand and measure the circumference of the knuckle on your index finger.
  2. Palm: Measure the circumference of your palm, just below your knuckles.
  3. Wrist: Measure over the small bone on the outside of your wrist.
  4. Forearm: Measure the fullest part of your forearm.
  5. Bicep: Measure the fullest part of your upper arm (halfway between elbow and armpit).
    • Note: If you have extra soft tissue here, gather it gently and hold the tape slightly tighter to ensure even encirclement.
  6. Arm Length: Measure from approximately 2 finger widths (~1" / 2.5 cm) below your armpit down to your wrist bone.

How to Measure Your Legs

For the best fit, have a friend help you take these measurements while you are standing.

  • Ankle: Measure the circumference at the narrowest point above the ankle bone.
  • Calf: Measure the circumference at the fullest part of the calf (below the knee).
  • Leg Length: Measure from just below the knee down to the floor.
